Join me on my Mary Kay journey....
Month 3:
Seems a bit odd to start a blog on the 3rd month of my journey? There's a good reason for this. Read on:
When I was first approached by a Mary Kay Consultant four months ago, I didn't know one thing about Mary Kay. Sure, my mom had purchased some products many years ago. Proof being the pink and white bottle I saw on a shelf in the bathroom. A cleanser of some sort. What did I need to know about that? Mary Kay is for older women, right? Being a teenager, the last thing on my mind was my skin care routine.
Flash forward 15 years: Me, in the bathroom, staring into the mirror at fine lines around my eyes, and 2 expression lines on my forehead that lingered long after the expression disappeared. Well, this must be part of getting older. Wait, I'm only just past 30. It just might be time to get serious about skin care... perhaps.
To be truthful, I did care and do care about the way I look. I have probably tried every skin care product that the local CVS Pharmacy stocks. But I would buy a product one time and then move on to the next product as soon as that bottle was empty. When something doesn't work, move on to the next... and the next... and the next. Nothing could make my skin happy.
Not having the worst skin in the world, I certainly don't have the best. A breakout here, a breakout there. Oily here, dry there. Overactive pores and a shine on my skin by 10am. I could say one of my least favorite features is my skin. It has given me problems for as long as I can remember. But I have to live with it, right?
Flash back to 3 months ago. I decided to TRY the Mary Kay skin care line called Timewise, as the Mary Kay consultant was adamant that it will visibly reduce age and improve the quality of my skin.
'I'll try it just like I've tried every other product promising to improve my skin clarity from ProActiv to Dermalogica', I thought to myself. If you know me, I'm not easily won over by sales people claiming a miracle.
MIRACLES DO HAPPEN...
